When I looked at your web cam it was like looking at home. My daughters think I'm nuts because I watch it by the hour, watching the fog and the clouds going in and out of the trees across the bay and the sun rise and set. I am hoping to get a place there sometime after Jan. If you know of any places to rent or buy. Could you please let me know. I get disability so I don't need a job, just a home in a place that has clean air and lots of rain. Thanks, Deb.

I caught your website as a result of a search on a land parcel I was interested in; Three acres in your Bay but, your a tiny bit too far south for me. My grandfather(Norman DesRosiers) homesteaded Excursion inlet before statehood so that's where we call "paradise". It's across the water from Hoonah (sort of. Your patch of water looks darn near as nice as ours but, I'm real impressed with that compound you put together. If I'm ever blown that far of course I'll have to stop in and ask for the tour. Well' greetings from Fairbanks! (where I spend most of my year)

That was in 1957. Is this the same Edna Bay? I remember coming to the camp by pontoon plane, going to vacation Bible school on a boat that was docked at the pier, whales in the bay, traveling to Marble Island in my grandfather's boat for a picnic and starting school in the fall in a 2 room school house. The same year Alaska became a state. Fond memories...just wondering.

Message: Hi, and thank you for the nice website. Your site has given me alot of useful information about Edna Bay. I get the sense that you have a very nice community there. I feel sorry for Ken in the last message (didn't see his message until after I bought the land) I just purchased those remaining 2 "steep and rocky" parcels from the state on the northeast side of the bay that Ken had been looking at. I fell in love with SE Alaska when I visited there a few years ago (and NOT as a cruiseship tourist), and decided that more than anywhere else I wanted to live there someday. Well, that someday has just come closer. I'd love to get to know more about the community and the area, I'm especially interested in seeing the photos you mention elsewhere in the website (other than those now on the main page). I look forward to visiting Edna Bay as soon as it reasonable for me to do so, no firm date yet. Any advice you can give on what friendly visitors might expect to encounter. I figure that I would probably come the first time for a few days and camp on my property, explore the area, meet some of the locals and swap stories. Thanks again for the website, I look forward to meeting you in person whenever I can make it out there. My best to all!

Message: Hello, I bought a lot on the east side of Edna bay this summer and plan to retire up here in a few years. I had a float house in Craig while I worked tree thinning on several islands in Sea Otter Sound, ie. Heceta Island, Marble,Orr island. That was 15 plus years ago. I come up each summer, from California and play tourist; fishing, for two weeks. Traveled all over Alaska, but Sea Otter Sound has captured my heart the first visit 22 years ago. My float house is still in crab bay, after all these years!

Message: Hi, Thank you for putting up this guest book! Louise and I are looking forward to meeting all of you folks at Edna Bay and visiting our property there as soon as it becomes feasable, although this winter was ruled out due to other obligations that have come up. Even though we havn't been out there yet Edna Bay is already our favorite place on Earth. You can count on having us as neighbors in the future, we are busy putting our plans into action even now. We have purchased a boat (big enough to live on until we get a house built on our land) and are having it worked on right now, this is probably how we will visit Edna Bay when we first come - so it may be awhile before we get enough free time to cruise from New England, down through the Panama Canal, and then up to Edna Bay. But no matter how long it is before we arrive, we already consider Edna Bay home. God bless you all. Already Alaskans in our hearts, Roger & Louise
